Why:

Studies* have shown that insulin resistance is a contributing factor for Alzheimer's disease. 

But using your muscles after you eat means your body uses the glucose from your food to fuel those muscles.

This helps happens thanks to insulin. 

So doing light exercise prevents glucose from spiking, and keeps insulin levels stable. 

How:

After you eat, go for a walk. If you're in great conversation, suggest to your friends/colleagues that you carry on the conversation while walking. 

Or if you can't go for a walk, one of my coffee break workouts might be the perfect thing

  • they're all about 3-5 minutes,

  • and typically don't need anything but a little bit of space (they're mostly designed to be done in a kitchen while you wait for your coffee to brew ☕️ )
