Why:
Studies looking at how to train muscles for different things have found that:
• for LEARNING, our muscles better connect to the brain when shortened, but
• for GAINING STRENGTH, our muscles adapt faster when held in their lengthened forms.
How:
For this reason, it could be most effective to
1️⃣ first train a muscle in its shortened form 🧠
2️⃣ Then load it while it's stretched. I demonstrate how this could look for the hip flexors in this 13-second video.
