1 Super easy way to get more creative in your asana (and why!)
"Brainy What-Why-How"
Your weekly nibble of brain-based tips to help you move and feel great!
🧠
What:
Practising mindfulness to what your habits are in your movement,
then changing just one thing about how you move,
can be hugely beneficial to your brain, your creativity, and your movement abilities!
Why:
Your brain needs two things to keep doing it's thang:
1️⃣ Fuel: which it gets in the form of oxygen and glucose
2️⃣ Activation: meaning, it gets USED.
When we do something new or usual, it requires the brain to 😝🤘go hard🤘😝 on activating.
This revs up not just brain activity, but it grows new neural pathways and it can be fun!
How:
How to add novelty? Often we think of creativity as being suuuuuper OUT THERE in weirdness and newness.
But nay, my beloved brethren, you can just change ONE THING.
But first ☝️ you have to notice what your habits are:
For example, maybe you notice that every time you step back to lunge from standing you bring your leg straight back.
Then ✌️ you could change that one thing:
You take your leg out wide and then to the back for your lunge.
This little bit of newness means your brain goes:
🎇🧠🎆
And now you have a fun new way to move to lunge.
