What do your eyes have to do with your core? EVERYTHING

"Brainy What-Why-How"
Your weekly nibble of science-backed goodness to help you move better and feel unstoppable.
🧠
What:
One of my private clients had a seriously sideways forearm stand — her legs were leaning right like they were trying to hail a cab. 🚕
I gave her a simple eye drill and BAM — straightened up in one second. No, I'm not exaggerating.
No extra effort. Just brain magic.👀
Why:
Your eyeballs are VIPs in the nervous system.
Most body muscles get instructions via nerves from the spinal cord. Not your eye muscles.
They’re directly wired to your brain like: “Excuse me, we have FRONT ROW ACCESS.” 🧠✨
That means tiny eye movements can trigger huge shifts in things like reflexive stability.
And bonus? You can target the left and right sides separately.
In this case:
➡️ Her right side was wilting.
➡️ Her right eye was lazy.
➡️ We woke the eye up = her body followed suit.
No force. No "fixing".
Just freaky-cool neuro wizardry 🧙♀️
How:
Now, will the same drill work for you? Who knows. Brains are delightfully unpredictable.
(That’s why my Functional Neurology Training exists — more on that in a sec* 👀)
But here’s a fun experiment:
Film yourself crossing your eyes toward your nose, your nose bridge, and your “third eye.”
Watch the video: is one eye being a bit of a diva and refusing to move?
Now ask: does that same side of your body feel less stable or strong? If yes, bingo. You might have a fun little eye-brain-body connection to play with.
💡 Bonus: just doing the eye drill might give you a weird burst of energy — it can light up parts of the brain that dial up your system’s “oomph.”
