🤯 The Brain Hack That Makes Cartwheels Click
"Brainy What-Why-How"
Your weekly nibble of brain-based tips to help you move and feel great!
🧠
What:
If your cartwheel feels more like a confused tumble than a fierce flip, your body’s not the issue—your brain is.
Enter: neural chunking.
It’s a fancy little brain hack that makes cartwheels click.
And yes, I break it all down in my YouTube video: The Complete Cartwheel Workshop—
from “which leg goes where?”
to advanced variations that’ll have your inner child (and adult bod) doing handstands you didn't know were possible.
Why:
Your brain is, like, obsessed with patterns 💁 🧠
It loves to group messy movements into cute, clean little chunks. Like:
✅ These parts go together
✅ This is one unit
✅ This is safe, repeatable, and I'm ready for more
So instead of screaming, “WHAT DO I DO WITH MY LEGS??” your nervous system just gets it.
Flow unlocked 🤙
How:
Chunk skills into "mini skills". For example, the cartwheel:
The Launch – Hands say hello to the floor (something the vestibular system needs to aid with too!)
The Inversion – Legs fly high, shoulders stay strong (why we're working on the hips so much this month)
The Landing – Feet down, chest up like a superhero 🦸
Now repeat after me:
🔁 Practice each chunk solo.
🔁 Then blend them together like your favourite smoothie
🔁 Visualise the chunks as one smooth ride
And just like that, your brain glues it all together into one confident cartwheel unit.
No more guessing. Just flow.
Real talk:
You can sweat through a thousand ugly reps…
or you can train smarter.
That’s exactly how I build classes in Move With Adell:
Mini-skills, chunked out and slipped into su-weet yoga flows—so your nervous system learns while you breathe, move, and vibe.
