Brains are like besties: brutally honest and quick to reply
"Brainy What-Why-How"
Your weekly nibble of science-backed goodness to help you move better and feel unstoppable.
🧠
What:
One thing that makes functional neurology so special is that change happens at lightning speed ⚡️
No waiting weeks to see if something might work—your brain will tell you immediately if it likes what you’re doing
...like your bestie texting back the second you mention drama 🤭
Why:
Because your brain doesn’t need weeks to notice something works.
Its vote on what you can benefit from repeating is instant.
It’s like flirting:
you throw out a line (the drill),
and the nervous system either lights up “Ooooh, yes!”
...or ghosts you “Meh”.
Doesn’t mean it’ll stick forever (that takes repetition), but it shows you what your brain is currently hungry for.
How:
Always test → drill → retest.
Test: Try touching your toes, and notice range of motion, pain/discomfort, movement clarity, or even your mood.
Apply a drill: like tensioning your sciatic nerve, or crossing your eyes as I mentioned a couple of weeks ago.
Then retest touching your toes and see what changed:
✅ Better range of motion, less pain, clearer movement, or even a lighter mood? Cool; keep that drill in your toolkit.
❌ Maybe you notice no change or things get worse: Cool. Ditch it and move on.
So poke it, prod it, experiment.
Let your body’s built-in lab show you what actually works today.
